Autogo rental

Prior to our arriving in Lithuania , we had made an agreement with the car rental service “Autogo rental” to pick up a car the same day we arrived. The duration of the rental was to be from May 31st to June 11th . We received the vehicle as per the deal in the airport and paid a 200 euro deposit, however, it was re-rented from another company “Crental.lt Siaulai” by “Autogo rental”. We were not made aware that they did not have the requested vehicle and they would rent it from another company. The second discrepancy in the contract was that the price was for an additional day, May 30th , this was not what we had ordered. It turns out we were being charged for the retrieval of the vehicle even prior to our own arrival. The on-site representative claimed this was to pay an extra 42 euros for the transport of the vehicle from Siaulai to Vilnius. This was not agreed upon prior to our arrival. The vehicle itself was not in very good shape and the representative offered to us to make pictures in case of further damages. We signed a contract with the representative that forbade us from driving over 130 KM per hour. Having started driving the car, it was apparent there were many faults with it. The dashboard did not light up, making it difficult to see the speed, forcing us to watch our speed through the GPS. The electronic key did not always start the car from the first try, it would take a couple of tries before the car started. On the left side, the doors did not automatically lock themselves, forcing the passenger to manually lock the car every time. Due to our intensive schedule, we did not immediately contact the company about the issues with the car. On the way to Klaipeda, we had reached about 130 KM per hour for a couple of seconds, which was completely legal for the roadway we were driving on. We immediately received a call from the company , claiming we now owed them 300 Euros for the exceeded speed. The day before we were scheduled to leave, we took the car to a car wash. The car wash employees notified us that the vehicle would not turn on, the key was no longer working. We contacted the company and they claimed that the car wash was to blame or perhaps we put the wrong fuel in the car. They were trying to put the blame on us for their faulty vehicle. We ended up having to go to the airport on our own. The people who came to pick up the rental car included one obviously drunk man. The company had offered us to be picked up by one of their vehicles to go to the airport, however we did not want to risk anymore problems with this company, having had a bad time with them throughout the trip. Our deposit of 200 euros was not refunded. We would not recommend renting from this service, they were completely unprofessional, the entire process was a frustrating and outrageous experience with extra charges and expenses.
